Breanna Grace is Two
Breanna Grace
You came into this world in a hurry, 3 weeks early actually. The Giants had just won the Superbowl the evening before, and all the excitement from prepping for our Superbowl party and our team winning had me in labor and i hadn't known it until 3 am the next morning. I woke with a pain i recognized immediately and waited. Then another and another, but still i waited. I wanted to make sure this was real contractions and they certainly were. After 14 contractions in less than an hour, i knew it was very much time to get a move on. I woke your daddy and while he thought it wasn't rush time at first, i assured him i was overdue to be at the hospital and we hustled! Luckily the hospital was only 5 mins from the house and he dropped us off first-then went and dropped your brother off for a long early play date at our friends house while you came into the world.
Our favorite doctor, Dr. Granger, was getting ready to leave but heard we arrived and scrubbed back in to deliver you! See your pregnancy was full of ups and downs and he knew us well. You decided at 20 weeks that you didn't want to be upside down, and so you remained right side up with your head in my ribs for the duration of your stay. That caused some interesting experiences that i hadn't experienced with your brother, that is for sure! While they prepped me and started to get you out of your rather comfy home, we all joked, showed off my odd shaped uterus to the student nurse who was there and then there you were. 8:18 am you entered the world and got your first kisses and cuddles and of course pictures. Dr Granger stood there with all 6lbs and 4 oz of you, posed for a picture, but Daddy zoomed in on you and cut off his head!
Our Hospital stay was a week long. You were perfect but mommy had a reaction to a shot and so we stayed and made some new friends. You know, you had your first date with a very handsome little boy named Trevor at only 3 days old. Me and his daddy walked you two around the halls and chatted while you two enjoyed the stroll.
Since then, it has been an amazing journey as i watch you grow every day.
My Beautiful Breanna
Being a mother again meant my fears kind of reset. All the scary first time mommy jitters come back again for a second time, along with new ones, so I have some hopes for you that you should know.
I hope that your zest for discovery never fades and your will only grows stronger. I wish you the strength to make the tough choices as you grow in life, as the hardest decisions to make, are usually the right ones.
I hope you continue to know what you want and that you always try your hardest to get it. I hope you go against the grain and aren't afraid to be whomever you want to be. I hope that the power of NO! is never lost in your travels, and i really hope that your confidence is never broken. I hope you fail, and fail a lot-but i hope you learn and succeed after you try again, because you will try again. I hope that no boy or girl scars your heart too early on, and i hope you have enough courage to stand up against the wrongs of the world. I hope i don't break many promises nor fill your head with empty ones, and that i stick to my word more times than not, and i hope to always be there when you need me.
I hope you know that at only 2 years old, your charm and charisma has me wrapped around your little finger-actually, i probably don't want you to know that last bit... I hope you always know the love i have for you is beyond words and I hope our relationship flourishes as you grow. I hope for your dreams come true, and for most of all, happiness to fill your heart.
Happy 2nd Birthday my beautiful baby girl, I love you.
