Grape Picking in Valrico

Here in Florida you find pick your own farms all over. Strawberries being the ones i here about constantly in the beginning of the year. We have never gone to any pick your own in the almost 5 years we have lived here! There is even a strawberry festival, so when i heard about pick your own grapes locally, I thought it was time! As a photographer in tampa, and because it was a first for us, clearly I had to bring the camera along!

The kids an I headed over to Valrico for some wonderful grape picking at Thompson's nursery and Vineyard. 

The kids just loved driving on the back of the golf cart to get into the vineyard and of course picking their own fruit. We taste tested a few more than we probably should have, but the owners said it was ok. *whew* There were so many different colors and flavors, and they were NOTHING like the super market kind. it was a fun experience on the whole, and I am sure we will do it again next year. Surprisingly enough, the kids weren't into eating them as much as they were picking them! The grapes have much thicker skin and the skin was much more tart than we are used to, and the flavor while some were sweet, a lot were a little more rustic I would say, and the kids didn't know what to think of them. I on the other hand, enjoyed them, and look forward to going back.

We brought home dragon fruit too to try and, it was AMAZING! D didn't like it because of all the little seeds, but Bre and I ate the entire thing in about 5 mins ourselves. We could Probably eat that all day everyday. Yum! In short-go try a new place and enjoy it.
